The 2017 FABTECH Expo recently wrapped up in Chicago, where the latest products and developments in the manufacturing industry were on display in all their mechanized glory. As North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing exhibition, nearly 45,000 people from 120 countries converged upon McCormick Place to get a glimpse of what the future has in store.
While no stranger the annual trade show, this year Machitech Automation was thrilled to have been invited to feature our PipeCut CNC machine in the Airgas booth, further solidifying the relationship between our two companies. By showcasing our product alongside our US distributor, the Machitech team was able to meet more Airgas specialists from other regions and demonstrate what makes us one of their automation suppliers of choice.
The PipeCut model provided us the opportunity to present something fresh and exciting to onlookers, as it contains several key features unavailable to similar pieces of equipment. Complete with Hypertherm’s new XPR300 plasma power supply, the PipeCut machine was indeed attracting a lot of attention.
“This specific machine was unique in that it included a 4’ by 8’ processing area for either flat plates or domes. The machine is also extendable to 60’ and has various options available such as full contour beveling and infeed conveyors,” said Tass Hamstra, Machitech’s manager of sales for North America.
In addition to Machitech representatives who were available to discuss our complete line of cutting equipment, spokespeople from both Alpha Lazer and BeamCut were on hand to discuss recent breakthroughs in fiber laser cutting and robotic plasma cutting, respectively.
However, our time at FABTECH wasn’t limited to delivering system specs to an endless stream of people. Machitech’s service manager, Martin Labrecque, was pleased to note the number of industry professionals who were brainstorming current or upcoming projects with our team to gauge which machine was best suited to their needs, making for an interactive and collaborative experience.
We also had the chance to touch base with existing customers from the US and Canada who were interested in updating their machines, such as the folks at TorcSill Foundations, LLC, a premier global provider of engineered helical pile and anchor systems. Machitech was happy to learn that their business was thriving, and suggested reliable solutions that would help them achieve continued success.
As always, we had a fantastic time at FABTECH. Being surrounded by creative, knowledgeable individuals who share our passion for innovation is one of the most rewarding aspects of what we do. Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank Airgas once again for their support and for making this year’s exhibition one of the most memorable. Your staff ensured everything ran smoothly from beginning to end.
We can’t wait for what next year has in store, and we look forward to seeing everyone in Atlanta for FABTECH 2018!
