Industrial Painter

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Industrial Painter is responsible for preparing parts, applying paint, and performing touch-ups using a spray gun.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and mix paint in accordance with established procedures and specifications;
- Handle painted/prepared parts using a forklift or overhead crane;
- Organize the work area;
- Clean, sand, and occasionally strip and degrease parts to properly prepare surfaces for painting;
- Verify environmental conditions (temperature, relative humidity, etc.);
- Paint parts and perform touch-ups as required;
- Inspect parts (paint thickness, finish quality, etc.);
- Complete quality control and production documentation;
- Monitor the inventory of equipment required for painting operations;
- Clean accessories and equipment using solvents;
- Wear personal protective equipment and comply with health and safety guidelines;
- Perform any other related tasks to support the team in completing departmental projects.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Vocational diploma (DEP) in building painting, auto body repair, surface treatment, or industrial painting certificate (AEP) (asset)
- Respirator certification (asset)
- WHMIS certification (asset)
- Overhead crane and forklift certification (asset)
- Relevant industrial painting experience (2–3 years)
- Ability to work under pressure
