Shipping / Receiving Clerk

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, sorting, and shipping goods. They
ensure that all products are in good condition, that quantities match purchase orders, and that items are
properly entered into the inventory management system. Products must be handled with care, shipped
on time, and accompanied by the appropriate documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive deliveries and verify product accuracy, including quantity, quality, condition, and
documentation. - Prepare orders for shipment, including packing, labeling, and shipping documents.
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift or other handling equipment.
- Enter data into the computer system, including purchase orders, delivery slips, and tracking
numbers. - Maintain organization and cleanliness in the shipping and receiving area.
- Work collaboratively with carriers and other departments, including production, purchasing, and
customer service. - Report any discrepancies, damages, or delays to the immediate supervisor.
- Participate in inventory control and stock management.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Experience with inventory management software.
- Comfortable with computers and web interfaces.
- Ability to operate a forklift; valid certification is an asset.
- Excellent physical ability.
- Ability to work under pressure.
