JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Deputy Production Manager, the person in the Welder position reads and interprets blueprints, prepares and assembles parts, selects and adjusts welding equipment, and performs high-quality welds. The role includes inspecting weld quality, correcting defects, performing finishing work, adhering to health and safety standards, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting production activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret blueprints and welding instructions.
- Verify dimensions and compliance of parts before assembly and welding.
- Clean and polish parts to be welded as required.
- Plan the assembly sequence of components.
- Fit, assemble, and secure structures using bolts, clamps, tack welds, or other methods.
- Select and set up welding equipment and gas systems.
- Weld, brush, grind, and polish excess weld material.
- Inspect weld quality and penetration and perform corrective actions when necessary.
- Follow all occupational health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Training and/or experience in welding.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand assembly sequences.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Comfortable wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
