If you are not yet familiar with what a water jet system is, you should be because it is quite fascinating. Unlike a plasma cutter, a water jet cutter uses water propelled to create an intense, high-pressure stream that can cut materials. Water jet cutting offers advantages over other cutting methods because it does not use heat so it does not produce burnt edges or the other problems typically associated with other cutting methods; it produces an extremely pristine cut. Because there is no heat-affected zone, it is an ideal cutting method for a wide variety of materials including metals, plastics, acrylics, laminates, composites and more. In addition to being capable o cutting a wider array of materials, it can also cut thicker materials. At Machitech Automation, we produce world-class water jet systems that provide our clients with versatility and unitized system.
Machitech Automation water jet systems are specially designed for high precision cutting on a heavy unitized frame that can be increased in size as the customer's needs grow. Our systems feature innovative inverse rail systems and bellows protection with exceptional accuracy and cut quality. We designed our systems with our client's unique needs in mind which is why we specially designed our water jet systems for high precision cutting on a heavy unitized frame that can be increased in size as the customer's needs grow. Our tables come with standard dimensions that include 10' x 5', 12' x 6', 10 x 20' and can also be made available in custom dimensions as needed. Our water jet systems produce a cutting speed of 0 to 500 IPM, related to process and power source. Our waterbed provides a positioning accuracy of 0.001'' and our maximum table capacity is a 4'' material thickness. We use KMT and Hypertherm water jet pumps for power. Further, our water jet systems use a 6'' x 8'' steel, fully machined gantry and the clearance under gantry is 8 1/2''. Constructed of the best materials, we use 3/4'' Agma 10 rack and pinions, 20 mm linear bearings with Raydent coating which offers superior corrosion resistance on machined surfaces. The motors are fully integrated with Bosch Rexroth AC Servo and Serco II drive controller, which is the latest generation digital interface for communication between industrial controls, motion devices, and input/output devices (I/O). The Sercos III drive controller uses networking cabling, which allows for faster communication and better reliability vs. analog connections. We use a pneumatic pinion engagement system to ensure positive rack contact. Ultra precision helical planetary gearboxes for the smoothest motion possible and produces the lowest noise, compared with conventional speed reducer. The CNC controller is an Edge Pro CNc controller that is Windows based and uses a 15'' glass touch screen. Further, it contains 2 USB ports and has a network connection. It also has up to 1GB in memory and uses phoenix software. We provide part program support (PPS), remote help, auto gas support, DXF import, and simple shape nesting along with 2 years warranty (offered by Hypertherm). We suggest our clients use Hypertherm Cam Solutions ProNest for nesting software. Finally, we offer a variety of options because we go the extra mile for our customers. These options include: camera, electronic raise/lower system (waterbed), ink jet or dot peen marker, removable trays for easy cleanout (waterbed or downdraft), security system (pull cord, light curtain).
